The game
This policy covers the iPhone version of Don't Spill and this official support website. The game does not require an account or show advertising. It offers optional in-app purchases (the Regular's Card, single costume sets from version 1.1, and the tip jar's tips from version 1.1), with purchase verification and reporting through RevenueCat as described below. Earlier free test builds have no real-money purchases and do not use RevenueCat.
Your best scores, earned tips, unlocked and equipped cosmetics, the look you make in the locker room, and sound and music preferences are saved locally on your device. We do not receive these saves or run a cloud-save service. Ordinary gameplay does not send your run history or game progress to us.
Local saves remain until the app's data is removed or replaced. Deleting the app removes its local data; device backups may retain a copy under your Apple backup settings. Offloading the app may keep its data. We cannot restore progress from a server.
Purchases
The Regular's Card, single sets and tips are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment, your Apple Account and any refund; we do not receive your payment details or Apple Account login information. Tips are a thank-you to the developer: they unlock nothing in the game apart from a small pin for your courier.
The iPhone game connects to RevenueCat when it starts, including when you have not bought anything, and when you buy or restore a purchase. RevenueCat creates a random identifier for the app installation and keeps a customer record with basic technical details such as device type, operating system, app version and locale, country information, and the times the record was first created and last connected. It also receives App Store purchase records when purchases are checked or restored.
Internet requests reach RevenueCat with your IP address. RevenueCat says it can use this to determine your country, then drops the IP address; the country remains in its customer records. We do not send your name, email address or advertising identifiers to RevenueCat. Its random customer identifier does not itself give us your name or email address.
RevenueCat uses these records to verify and restore purchases and to provide purchase analytics, reports and totals. It processes this information on our behalf under our service agreement and its data-processing terms; this policy describes our use of your information. RevenueCat also explains its role in its privacy policy.
You can contact us to request deletion of the customer record held by RevenueCat. We may need purchase information, such as an Apple order ID, to find the right record. Deleting that record does not remove a purchase from your Apple Account. Continuing to use the game or restoring a purchase can create a RevenueCat record again.
Apple gives us sales and financial reports so we can be paid; those reports do not include your name or email address. Restoring the card or a set on another iPhone works through your Apple Account; purchases are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Becoming a customer in the game
The tip jar's biggest tip comes with an invitation: send us a first name or nickname and the look you made in the locker room, and we may add you as one of the customers on the street in a later update. The game sends nothing itself. It opens your email app with a message you can change, send or discard.
If you send it, we receive your email address, the name you chose, your look (written as a code in the message) and the purchase's transaction number, which we use only to check that the tip was made through the App Store. We check every name and look before adding anyone, and we may decline a name that is offensive or someone else's.
A patron we add appears in the game for every player: their name, with a PATRON tag, on a customer wearing their look, and on the tip jar's list of patrons. Ask us at any time to change or remove yours; the change arrives with the next update, and copies of the game that are already installed keep the earlier version until they update. We keep the email only as long as needed to add you and handle later requests, as described below for support mail.
When you email support
If you email dontspillgame@protonmail.com, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to reply, investigate your issue and handle your request. Please do not send passwords, payment information or other sensitive details.
Support mail is handled through Proton Mail, subject to Proton Mail's privacy policy. Email providers process message and delivery information. We do not add support contacts to marketing lists or sell them.
We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to address the request, follow up on related issues or meet an applicable legal obligation. You can ask us to delete your correspondence using the address above; we will explain if we need to retain any part of it.
Visiting this website
This website is hosted by Netlify. We have not added advertising, visitor analytics, tracking cookies, contact forms or third-party font requests. Opening the site still sends normal web-request information to the host, such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and the time of the request. Netlify may process and retain technical logs to deliver and protect the website.
Hosting data is handled under Netlify's privacy policy and service terms. We do not promise that visiting a hosted website produces no logs. Following an external link or opening an email app brings you under that provider's own practices.
Your choices
- Game data: it is stored on your device. Deleting app data removes local progress and earned items. Check your device backup settings for any backup copies. A Regular's Card or a set you bought stays with your Apple Account and can be restored. Tips are one-time thank-yous and are not restored like the card and the sets.
- Photos and sharing: you choose when and where to share. You can manage photo permissions in iPhone Settings and remove saved or posted images from their destination.
- Support and patrons: ask us about access, correction or deletion of information you sent by email, including your name and look as a patron. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including a right to object to certain processing or contact your local data protection authority.
We do not ask players, including children, to provide personal information to play. Becoming a patron is optional, and a nickname works as well as a name. If a child has sent personal information to support, a parent or guardian can contact us about removing it.
Apple and TestFlight. App distribution, any diagnostic sharing you enable with Apple, and TestFlight feedback are governed by Apple's settings and privacy policy. During testing, feedback or crash reports made available through TestFlight may be used to diagnose problems. This is separate from the game's local saves.
